Burned man sues mechanic for injuries
An auto mechanic in Santa Ana, California will serve 5 years in a state prison after he pleaded guilty to arson causing bodily injury. The employee lit a 64 year-old man that was loitering around the auto shop the mechanic worked at. He attempted to scare the man away, but the flames consumed the transient and he suffered third-degree burns on his face and arms.
Now the burned man is suing Firestone for negligence and wants $1.5 million to repay his medical expenses. The 64 year-old is a war veteran and underwent six weeks of treatment for his burns, which included getting multiple skin graphs from his hips and other areas of his body.
