Injured firefighter recovers from burns
A Minneapolis fire captain is at Hennepin County Medical Center after she and four others were injured while battling a fire at the Walker United Methodist Church. She is the only firefighter not to be released from the hospital after the Memorial Day weekend blaze.
The fire captain and her crew went up to the northeast tower of the church when a ball of fire suddenly blew through a wall. She was badly injured and unable to make it down with the rest of her crew.
According to the Star Tribune, the woman suffered burns on both of her arms, her ears, and her back. Her injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.
