Be careful around fireworks this Fourth of July

Fireworks are a major part of most people’s Fourth of July celebration, but they can turn a night of celebration into a night of disaster in just a few seconds. This Independence Day, please exercise caution around fireworks.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, children are the most at risk for injury around fireworks. About 40 percent of all firework-related injuries are sustained by children 15 and younger.

Whether you plan on watching a display or lighting some on your own, people should stay at least 500 feet away and obey safety barriers. Unexploded fireworks should not be touched, contact the local police or fire departments instead.

If you have been injured by a firework due to another person’s negligence, contact the personal injury lawyers of Robert Wilson & Associates at (612) 334-3444.
