Fund raising event set for injured farmer
A fund raising event has been organized for a farmer that was injured in a farm accident last year.
Zion Lutheran Church in Princeton has organized an event to benefit cattle farmer Norman Sawyer, who broke his next in a farm accident April 19, 2012. Following the injury, Sawyer was confined at a neuro-trauma hospital in Rockford, Illinois, and has undergone six months of rehabilitation at the Minneapolis VA Spinal Cord Injury Center. A dinner followed by a live auction and entertainment will be held this coming April 13 at the Princeton Fire Station.
Event proceeds will be used for renovating Sawyer’s home to make it handicapped-accessible.
Although there are many ways in which those injured while on the job can obtain financial assistance, one of the most beneficial is workers’ compensation. While not all employees injured on the job are qualified to receive the benefits of workers’ comp insurance, many are.
