Turkey plant inspected after workers fell ill
An inspection by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is underway at a Jennie-O turkey processing plant in Willmar City after two dozen workers suddenly became ill, KSTP reported on October 21.
OSHA spokesperson James Honerman stated that the Jennie-O turkey processing factory is being inspected for possible safety violations in the workplace, beginning October 20. Three days earlier, plant workers were evacuated. City Fire Chief Gary Hendrickson reported that there were no harmful fumes or gas present in the facility. The Jennie-O plant, according to Honerman, was last inspected in February with no reported violations.
