Minnesota work-related injuries increase in 2012

According to a survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses, work-related injuries in Minnesota increased from 2011 to 2012.

The survey’s sample was collected from random Minnesota employers by the Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). 3.9 percent of nonfatal work-related injuries were recorded last year, which is a .1 increase compared to 3.8 percent in 2011.

DLI commissioner, Ken Peterson, said more work is still needed to further decrease environmental risks in the workplace.
