Construction accident injures 18

A construction accident in New York has left over a dozen people injured after a scaffolding fell five stories last week. The scaffolding fell from a Harlem building that was set to be demolished and landed on a city bus. Of the eighteen hurt, eight of them were on the bus.

Witnesses report that bricks began to fall from the building, hitting the scaffolding and causing it to fall. The spokesmen for New York’s Department of Buildings says the building had all the permits and an inspection at the beginning of September found everything to be up to par. The Department of Buildings and OSHA will conduct a federal investigation into the accident.
