Onamia apartment fire injures three

An apartment fire injured one resident and two firefighters in Onamia last week. All residents, most of them elderly, were displaced from the 12 unit, two-story complex as a fire in a first floor apartment burned.

The fire was contained in the single apartment and is believed to be accidental, though the investigation is still ongoing. According to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, the fire department was called to Onamia Manor Apartments after 7:30 pm Wednesday night.

One resident has been treated for burns to the face and two firefighters suffered from smoke inhalation.
