Drunk driver hits police squad car, shots fired

A 33-year-old drunk driver from Virgina has been charged with drunk driving, two counts of assault, and fleeing from police after he drove away from a Minnesota state trooper.

Authorities pulled over the driver after he hit a mailbox. The man sped away, leading to a chase, until he approached a dead end. The driver then put his pick-up truck in reverse and slammed into the squad car, pushing it back nearly 60 yards.

The trooper fired several shots but did not hit the drunk driver. Officers found and arrested the man in Virgina on Saturday.
