OSHA cited a Minnesota Security Hospital
A security hospital in St. Peter was recently cited by the state’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) due to recurring safety issues in the facility. These issues are reported as risking the health and safety of staff and patients, the St. Peter Herald published on August 15.
Though OSHA recognized the safety improvement of the Minnesota Security Hospital in the last two years, an inspection on August 1 revealed that it will have to improve further regarding safety in the workplace. OSHA did not publicize the details of the citation.
A previous report revealed that the security hospital had cases of administrative chaos and patient neglect. Staff members that were interviewed last May revealed that several policies in handling patients compromised their safety.
