Survey reveals information about disabled employees

A recent survey revealed that the overall stress level of workers with disabilities was greater than their nondisbled counterparts in work environments, an article of MPR News reported on July 13.

According to reports, the “workplace and health” survey conducted by NPR found that 35 percent of disabled respondents said their jobs negatively affect their overall health. Only 15 percent of workers who are not disabled said the same. The survey also revealed that 62 percent of disabled workers say their jobs contribute to their stress levels. Furthermore, over 55 percent of disabled workers said they found policies in their work environment unsatisfactory.

Aside from the negative health impact, disabled employees are also at high risk of sustaining injuries in the workplace, causing a loss of income. If you were injured on the job, a qualified attorney can help you file for your workers’ compensation benefits.
